Kimberly was an actor and parenting teacher in her hometown, Los Angeles, and performed in Australia where she lived for 3 years. She later returned to teaching pre-school and writing for over 15 years, in Australia and New York City.

She is currently focused on her children’s books where she was a specialty teacher on subjects such as; separation, ‘teamwork and tolerance’ and healthy eating.

Her first book to be published was “A Dolphin Up a Tree!” This book was produced Off-Broadway. It has been running in theaters non-stop for 12 years!

“My dream has always been to combine my love of theater with my love of children’s books and original stories. I can still hear the voices of pre-school aged children when I write stories and songs. I write for what they care about, need to know about, and what amuses them. Usually anthropomorphising is key. I still remember how a child feels. I wrote my first story about an orange poppy flower, when I was seven, and have it to this day.”

More than 20 years later, Kimberly turned that story about a Happy Flower and a Weeping Willow, into a full blown musical with music by Joshua Sitron (composer of Dora the Explorer). Three of her books have been produced Off-Broadway and have been running non-stop in New York City and New Jersey. These shows have also performed in Texas, Detroit and Australia with stellar reviews from The New York Times and New York Magazine. She has completed 9 children’s picture books.
